yikes resorting to citing 3 year old stats like bg stans, if this isn't a sign rv are done i don't know what it is

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
da they are doing fine for a girl group with women in their 30’s. they will always be famous and relevant and their impact is felt throughout kpop

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
which is why it's stupid trying to use them as an example of surviving scandals compared to two rookie groups in a kpop scene that's vastly different from 3rd gen

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
aespa isn't a rookie group and if you think this scandal is gonna hurt them you're going to be really disappointed when they cb

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
rookie group? aespa debuted in 2020, a whole 5 years ago. they have one of the biggest kpop fandoms right now and probably the most impressive streak of domestic and global hits of their generation. they are more than established. kiof is a different case tho

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
they aren't done imo but they are lodged firmly in the reliant on fandom instead of the gp category, again like bgs. an ot3 rv unit could have a lowkey hit like lil touch imo but they'd need a touch of virality like joy gave fmr. the gapjil incident really fucked over what would typically give an it girl longevity like cfs/gigs to keep her in the public's periphery but it helps these new groups that they don't seem to be experiencing from their "scandals"

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
well the whole point was that they were fine after irene's scandal. a lot of you straight up like, can't read. it's wild

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
if aespa or kiof were to do fine after their scandals in he same way as rv currently are they'd be considered flops (like rv are anywhere but meme lol)

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
but rv's immediate post-scandal comebacks smashed. lmao. kiof and fans would be ecstatic to have a hit in the level of queendom let alone feel my rhythm! red velvet's last couple comebacks underperforming had no connection to any scandals and this is just objective fact

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
this is giving kpop newbie who barely knows who red velvet is, they've always been very hit or miss on the charts so a couple comebacks not doing well after a couple that smashed is just their usual career-long pattern. the scandal didn't hurt them, and it won't hurt aespa just like none of karina's past scandals have

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
you realize irene's scandal happened like 5 years ago right? do you even know what you're talking about? red velvet had huge hits after they came back from the hiatus caused by irene's scandal and wendy's injury

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
and rv were 5 years old at the time, same as aespa

their "huge hit's" two years after that were mid af and completely overshadowed by aespa ive and nj

here, an illustration

Top 100 Idol Groups with the Highest ULs Peak on MelOn this decade

11 Psycho - 589,337
24 Feel My Rhythm - 450,174
27 Monster - 436,978
40 Queendom - 345,042

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
but rv were never as big as aespa. this comparison simply doesn't work

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)

?

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
why would them being less popular than aespa mean aespa is more likely to suffer from a scandal than them? lmao

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
anons seem to think they are both at the same level

but whether they are or not it simply doesn't mean rv is an example of a gg that survived a scandal no matter how rose tinted anons glasses are

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
red velvet objectively survived their scandal. no offense, it's obvious you don't know shit about them and don't even know when irene's scandal happened based on the fact you even include psycho and monster on your list above lmao so sit this one out

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
psycho was released in 2019, irene's scandal was in 2020 and queendom their first cb since in 2021, you seem confused

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
the point of this thread is that red velvet weren't hurt by irene's scandal. it doesn't matter if their post-scandal hits are middling to you (though i am a little confused you're using the fact that they have four entries on a top of the decade list as proof of their success being mid). they performed consistently with how they always did because the scandal didn't hurt them. it's not complicated and you come off really stupid.

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
the point is them losing almost half their uls from one cb to the next and never reaching psycho's numbers again even if fmr went up a bit. i couldn't even find this info for their recent cbs btw surely because it doesn't look good at all

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
but psycho wasn't their usual. it was their biggest hit. you don't know anything about the group!

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
wow schrodinger's huge impactful girlgroup strikes again!

(Anonymous) 2025-05-31 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
also these are huge numbers and UL peaks aren't the whole story. feel my rhythm charted for ages, it was a huge hit
