solo leveling is such a good anime. this is gonna sound bad but it's good because it's from a korean webtoon and koreans know how to make a good story with relatable characters.

japanese people when it comes to anime and dramas, they like the same 5 story arcs over and over and their plots lack the complexity that korean ones do. plus koreans love putting a dash of social commentary in their stuff. i find most anime to be so immature.

oh and the best part is that there's no girl characters shaking their tits. the few female characters seem to be complex too

hm i think there are plenty of japanese series that do that too but you have to steer completely clear of the anime series catered to a male demographic tbh but the masses eat up the most basic shonen jump shit

i like battle scenes and action, which is why im saying all that. ofc there's plenty of good anime but in recent years there hasn't been really tbh, i think anime storylines peaked in the 90s and early 2000s, since then it's all been downhill and the same hot garbage. solo leveling is like the good parts of shonen but without the annoyingness and the constant reminders that it's made for little kids by how stupid it is sometimes. it's like a shonen anime but for adults without the cringe and predictability

subaru is the most unbearable main character tbh. and the fucking twin maids?? stereotypical anime girl characters. it wasn't all that

the two maids are barely around and subaru is annoying but hes an sympathetic character. thats more than most protagonists can say

i've been thinking of watching it, it looks really good

i read it. the story is simple af and the characters are one dimensional from what i remember

what? the female characters do have unrealistic boobs lol i'm up to date with the anime and they seem super generic to me (and it's basically gonna turn into a soft harem in the sense they're all gonna fall for the main guy)

i also strongly dislike the main guy, he's not compelling at all, i can't empathise with him. and the art is just so pointy, ik koreans love triangle faces but it's so bad

the show premise is interesting but it would be better in the hands of a better writer

sa if you like battle scenes and action you're better off watching jujutsu kaisen, chainsaw man and even demon slayer (despite the boobs on the last one, it actually has some very cool, interesting female characters). also attack on titan which has finished - great female characters!

i like attack on titan. chainsaw man is good but also boobs...and weird sexualization of women. its too bro-ish for me. I watched one episode of jujutsu kaisen and it literally reminded me of every other shonen anime ever and not at all peaked my interest. i also gave demon slayer a chance but I'll give it another one i guess

chainsaw man is quite bro-y i agree, but it's still vastly better written than solo leveling. it has a few more obvious fanservice scenes but i feel like they work much better in context and the female characters still have more depth. i do dislike that the main character's motivations are very much about scissors women but i don't feel it comes up often enough to run the rest of the anime which is actually fantastic

jjk does follow some shounen tropes but this last season was amazing and again the characters and storylines are much more interesting

idk maybe i've seen too many kdramas but even song kang was more interesting in sweet home than this jinwoo guy is, and he's a terrible actor lmao. the chaebol failson is also way more compelling. idk, i watch solo leveling and don't find myself rooting for the mc or most other characters. it's some weird nerdy power

they have big boobs but they're not overly sexualized. even the workout scene with the one female S hunter, she wasn't being sexualized at all (no tits bouncing and spilling out of her sports bra), the female lead is complex not just a hot girl the main guy wants etc.

sure it's not compelling fanservice-y so far but the bodies are so unrealistic and they have absolutely nothing going for them in terms of personality so far

in addition to the anime i mentioned in my other comment i recently liked pluto and hell's paradise, and i've been catching up on mob psycho

i mean they're anime girls...so yeah they fit the anime girl bill but im ecstatic even about not having tits bouncing around and a lot of fan service. that already makes it 100x better.
