this adoption talk is reminding me of that episode of infinite challenge where they went to surprise this american soldier whose korean mom gave her up when she was a baby and yoo jaesuk arranged for her mom and dad and sister to come visit her and cook a meal for her. her adopted dad was also there and her korean dad was crying and telling him "thank you! thank you!!" and the korena interpreter started crying because her husband had been adopted and he still hadn't found his family yet.

then at the end of the episode they posted video messages of other korean americans who were looking for their korean families telling which orphanages they came from i was SOBBING

i'm reading about it now and :( they gave her up bc she was a girl without the mom even knowing and she had assumed she'd passed away

when i watched it seemed like the mom either wasn't conscious when she gave birth or she was passed out right after. she said that she dreamed(?) she heard a baby crying but the hospital told her that it had died and she believed them
