i think it's really difficult, because the younger trans people start hormones, the less difficulty with surgeries, puberty, and passing they have, but also, they're children who don't always know how to advocate for themselves properly and don't have a great understanding of repercussions

it sucks that trans people are so pressured to pass and they can't just live how they want to

i'm queer and i love all queer ppl. i cried reading leelah's tombstone, and i think it's fucked up that leelah's parents still aren't acknowledging her preferred gender. but i don't think her parents are the absolute monsters ppl make them out to be. my parents loved me and sacrificed so much for me, but it took them a year to finally come around. isn't it too harsh to just condemn them as disgusting monsters without any decency when they've been taught a certain thing since they were kids? i'm not saying we should excuse all homophobes, but as far as i know they didnt' beat leelah or tell her she was scum, they just refused to support her
