BLACKPINK’s Jennie has won a legal battle against Mr. A, who falsely claimed to be her biological father.
According to Woman Sense on the 18th, the Goyang Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court ruled on May 9th that Mr. A’s claim of being Jennie’s biological father was “deemed false.”
According to the ruling, the court stated: “There is no supporting evidence for Defendant A’s claim that he is Plaintiff Jennie’s biological father, aside from the defendants’ own assertions. On the other hand, Jennie’s official family register clearly records someone other than Defendant A as her father. Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that Defendant A’s claim is false.”
The court also ordered both Mr. A and Publisher B to destroy the published material. Furthermore, Mr. A is now prohibited from mentioning Jennie or related content on his personal messaging profiles or any personal accounts.
Previously, in 2024, illegal publications and fake news falsely claiming to involve Jennie’s father were circulated. Jennie’s agency responded firmly at the time, stating it was an “obvious falsehood,” and announced strong legal action against Mr. A in September. A formal lawsuit was filed in December, and after six months of litigation, Jennie has emerged victorious.
