i don't feel like this question is in good faith but for me personally sex is awkward the first time i do it with anyone and i'm self conscious about my body so i only am interested in it as a way to bond with someone i'm in a committed relationship with

no i am genuinely curious bc just from observing it seems everyone is so obsessed with sex and many people don't rly do anything that doesn't revolve finding a partner/finding someone to have sex. its a huge motivator in life for people. obviously if its THAT good it would help me understand why so many people do this. just like we can confirm meth feels really great which is why its addictive etc.

it's because in most societies and also as seen on meme, being unpartnered makes you a "loser" and indicates there's something wrong or undesirable about you. people deep in partner seeking are more trying to achieve that level of acceptance and normalcy and also enjoy the benefits of a intimate relationship, reducing it to sex is a mistake imo. and yes the bond is just different from platonic bonds. not necessarily better but completely different.
